Living History Farms is an interactive history musuem telling the story of 300 years of Iowa history
Living History Farms tells the story of 300 years of Iowa history through three working farms - 1700 Ioway Indian Farm, 1850 Pioneer Farm and 1900 Farm and an 1875 town. Visit with historic interpreters who explain what life would have been like in the past. Animals include oxen, pigs, cows, sheep, ducks and beautiful Percheron draft horses. Visit one of the 11 shops in the 1875 town of Walnut Hill including a working blacksmith, cabinet maker and print shop. Built in 1870, the Flynn Mansion and Barn are original to the site that Living History Farms is built upon and are on the National Historic Registry.
